Reggora is powered by a team of smart, hard working people dedicated to the mission of appraisal innovation, and we’ve all taken very different paths to get here. In this series, we’ll introduce you to different members of the Reggora family. This week features Patrick Scott, who joined Reggora in February of 2019 as a Director of Business Development to partner with lenders, introducing them to Reggora's technology.
Patrick Scott: Director, Business Development
Q: Tell us about yourself. Where did you grow up? What do you enjoy doing?
A: I grew up on a farm near Carnegie, Oklahoma, in the Southwestern part of the state and currently live in a suburb about thirty minutes outside of Oklahoma City. I enjoy spending time with my wife Amber, my 3 kids (Gavin 16, Jackson 13, and Hallie 9), playing a variety of instruments, photography, and working in my garden and yard. Most of all I like putting myself in situations to learn new things. Yes, I have chased tornados!!
Q: Where did you work before Reggora?
A: Prior to working at Reggora, I worked at another appraisal technology company for eight years. It was there that I learned about so many of the issues that lenders face. The time I spent there allowed me to develop a deep knowledge of appraisals, lender appraisal workflows, and better understand the challenges in this process. I have been able to bring this experience and knowledge to Reggora, a company dedicated to continued innovation.
Q: Why did you join the Reggora team?
A: Reggora provided me an opportunity to continue down the path I love: innovating, collaborating, and partnering with mortgage lenders to improve processes around appraisals. I saw the direction Reggora was headed as providing mortgage lenders and the industry as a whole greater with agility to navigate obstacles ahead, especially considering the current state of appraisals. Last year has shown us all the importance of remaining agile and nimble.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: Partnering with customers who are focused on leveraging technology to improve the digital mortgage experience for their borrowers is so much fun. It gives me the opportunity to be creative and think outside the box to find a solution that saves them time and money, not to mention the relationships I’ve made along the way.
Q: Why do you believe in what Reggora is Building?
A: The number of available appraisers in the market is in continued decline, and 2020 provided a year for data aggregation and virtual inspections to play a significant role in the collateral decision. Reggora’s vision puts it in a great position to be the company that provides a full digital solution to handle this transformation. I thoroughly enjoy seeing how our team thinks outside the box when it comes to creating a solution, or overcoming an obstacle. Along with a focus on customer service, this is how Reggora will continue building its brand.
Q: How has Reggora grown or changed since you’ve been here?
A: When I first started at Reggora in February of 2019, the company had less than twenty employees and was based out of a tiny office in Boston (which I had the pleasure of visiting once). Now in 2021, Reggora has around 100 employees working across the country and around the world, serves dozens of lenders, and has thousands of appraisers on the platform. Seeing the team, the processes, and most importantly the value we provide grow over the past two years has been fun, challenging, and rewarding.
