Welcome to Reggora’s “Meet the Team” series! Reggora is powered by a team of smart, hard working people dedicated to the mission of appraisal innovation, and we’ve all taken very different paths to get here. In this series, we’ll introduce you to different members of the Reggora family. This week features Heidi Belnay, who joined the Reggora team in May 2020 to help AMCs onboard and get started with Reggora in support of our lender clients.
Heidi Belnay: Partnership Manager
Q: Tell us about yourself. Where did you grow up? Go to school? What do you enjoy doing?
A: I grew up in Cape May, NJ and now live on the northern end of the Jersey Shore with my 6 year old daughter, Gretchen, who also just happens to be my best friend and favorite human on the planet. I went to Stockton University which is just outside of Atlantic City, twice! Once for Psychology and then again for Elementary Education. Like so many of us I ended up in the Mortgage Industry by happy accident and never looked back. I love to explore and take mini road trips on the weekends, the Garden State Parkway is my second home these days.
Q: Where did you work before Reggora?
A: Before working at Reggora I worked for a regional AMC, MaxVantage Appraisal Management Company, where I handled both Vendor Management and Business Development. I joined the team at MaxVantage while in the start-up phases and helped to grow the company along with the owners, who I am lucky enough to still call friends.
Q: Why did you join the Reggora team?
A: I love the start-up space, when I saw the job posting at Reggora for the Partnership Manager I knew this was where I belonged. This is truly my dream job and I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with so many new people within this great industry.
Q: What’s something you’ve learned while working at Reggora?
A: I tend to work very independently, at Reggora I have been challenged to work and collaborate with both the Customer Success team as well as many teams company wide. Thankfully we truly have the best team here and we all work together so well which has made this transition much easier for me.
Q: How have you handled the switch to remote work?
A: I have actually worked remotely since my daughter was born in 2014! Welcome to the fun everyone! :) The challenge this year has been managing virtual Kindergarten on top of work, luckily I have the best kid (not biased I swear) and we have so far been rocking this new normal.
Q: What is something that surprised you about working at a fintech, coming from an AMC?
A: Coming from an AMC has given me so much insight, after all, just a few months ago I was on the AMC side managing integrations with fintech partners! It has really helped me to understand what our AMC partners need, because sometimes it can feel like a different world on this side. We are constantly building new technology to make this the best experience for both our Lender clients and AMC partners, and working together to figure out exactly what that looks like. There is such a strong emphasis on team at a fintech and it has been such a fun experience so far.
